Darlin’

image

Darlin’ is a young calico girl who was dropped off in the parking lot of the shelter. She was frightened by the barking dogs, and ran a few doors down to a nearby business, which had her picked up by animal control. Now that Darlin’ is safely back with Dogs & cats, she is ready for a new home and someone who will care for her properly. She is a loving kitty who will be a great companion in an adult home.

Opie

image

Opie is a handsome, one-year-old boy who loves people. He is playful and would be right at home with a young active family. He gets along with other cats and with people of all ages. Opie is ready to spend his life loving you.

Fawna

Fawna is a very sweet and petite young tabby girl who came to us with a litter of kittens. She has retired from motherhood and is now looking for a career as a lap cat. She loves people of all ages and would be great in an active home.

Lucas and Luna

image

image

Lucas and Luna are a two-year-old Siamese mix brother and sister who came to the shelter a few months ago. They are very well-mannered and sweet, but like most housecats are extremely out of place at the shelter. They need a quiet home where they can resume their lives as lap warmers and window watchers.

Zoe

image

Zoe is a three-year-old girl who has been at the shelter for more than a year. She is very sweet and quiet-so much so that she never gets noticed by potential adopters-and would make a wonderful companion for an older person in a semi-active home.

Harvey

Harvey is a young FIV- positive boy who came to us from another rescue.  He is very handsome and social and gets along with other cats. He should be an only cat or be housed with other FIV-Positive cats as the virus is contagious to cats in certain circumstances. Harvey is available for adoption or permanent fosterharvey.

Libby and Amos

image

Libby and her brother Amos have been though a lot together, but you would never know it from their sweet and loving personalities. Amos is a lovebug who’ll sit in your lap, while Libby will sit next to you on your bed or chair. They were housed in a warehouse for almost a year when their former shelter closed down, but despite everything they always had each other. They are available for either adoption or permanent foster, but no matter what happens, they will always love each other. They are ready to love you, too.

Scrappy and Star

image

Scrappy and Star are looking for a permanent foster home together. They were adopted as kittens from Dogs & Cats seven years ago and returned because the owners were moving. They were so upset that they hid under their beds for a month. They are camera shy so this photo is as good as it gets–so come see them in person. Scrappy is a sweet solid black boy and Star is a petite black and white girl. They have been in isolation for a month because they are unable to acclimate to a cat room. They want to go to a real home again.

gizmo and Lovebug

Purrfect Pair

Gizmo and her sister Lovebug are three year old sweethearts who love to be held and petted. They are both lap cats, so an extra big lap-or better yet-two laps are required. they have been housecats all their lives and are really out of place in a shelter. They have so much love to give and they want to give it all to you.image

Gizmo and Lovebug

imageGizmo and Lovebug are three year old sisters who came to the shelter as five-week-olds. They were fostered for two and a half years so they are used to being in a home with adults, kids and other cats. They are both lap cats and love to be held and petted.  If you have room on your lap for these two sweet and beautiful girls, please consider taking them both, a they have been together all their lives and love each other. (Gizmo is on the left)

Tytus

imageTytus is a handsome four year old boy who was adopted from us as a kitten. He was recently found as a stray in Brevard County, but fortunately his microchip identified him as a DCF cat and he was returned to us from Animal Control. Tytus is a sweet and friendly boy who would be happiest with an active adult family or a family with older kids.

Tippy

image

Great news! My adoption fee has been paid by a Guardian Angel.

Tippy is a middle aged Russian Blue mix boy who came from a closed down shelter in Clewiston in 2010. He is very friendly with people but should be an only cat because he has a tendency to be dominant with other cats. He would do best in a semi active adult home.

Gabby

gabbyxGabby_O9C8450
Gabby is a middle-aged girl who would be perfect for someone who would like  a challenge. She was found abandoned at Tradition 2 years ago and truly does not like other cats. As one might imagine , a shelter  with 120 other cats is the last place Gabby wants to be. it has been impossible to show her true personality because of her dislike for other cats at the shelter, but we feel that out of the shelter where she is the only cat she would be quite receptive to living with adults  in a calm home. She is not a feral cat but merely a cat who lives in this situation which she does not like.

Big Daddy

Big Daddy is a two-year-old super friendly tuxedo boy who was found injured and living on his own.  Although his injuries healed, it was discovered that he was  positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV).  Big Daddy is a sweet and loving boy who needs a home as an only cat or with other FIV-positive cats.  He requires no special medication and should have a normal lifespan.   He is available for adoption or permanent foster.

Misty Sue

misty_sue

Misty Sue is a beautiful Russian Blue bobtail mixed girl. She was originally adopted from Dogs & Cats as an eight week old but was returned when her owner could no longer care for her. Misty Sue is positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) but she needs no special food or medicine, and she will have a normal lifespan. She would prefer a home where she is the only cat.

Jade

jade1Update: Jade has been adopted.

Jade is a six month old girl who loves to cuddle. She came to the shelter because her owner could not care for her. She loves to play, but her favorite place to be is in your lap. Jade is a very small cat who will probably be kitten-size even when she is all grown up

Brady

brady2AUpdate: Brady has been adopted.

Brady is an active nine month old who loves to talk. He is playful and social with people of all ages and with other cats. He was originally found as a stray but was obliviously a house pet at one time. Brady is charming boy who can’t wait to meet you

Siren

siren

Siren came to us when her owner dumped her in the parking lot of the shelter. She was pregnant at the time and soon gave birth to four beautiful kittens. Siren only a year old and she loves to play and act like the kitten that she still is. She is very affectionate with people and would do best in an active home.  She prefers being an only cat.f

Zoe

Zoe2

Zoe is a nine year old Siamese mix who is frontal declawed. She was adopted from us a year ago but her owner passed away last week and she was returned to us. She is a very sweet and affectionate girl and family friends said that she and her owner were very bonded. She would be a great cat for a senior looking for a companion. She gets along with other cats and even has lived with dogs in the past. Zoe is available for adoption or as a permanent foster.

Finch and Cass

finch_cass

Finch and Cass are a mother/son combo who would love a home with room for both of them. Finch(the tabby) is only eight months old and his mom, Cass (the dilute calico) is one year. they would be happiest in a semi-active adult home with no dogs or small kids. They often sleep and play together, so they need to find a home together, too.

Charlie

charlie2

Update:  Charlie has been adopted.  Charlie is a handsome, frontal declawed twelve-year- old boy who had to come to the shelter after his mom moved into an apartment which doesn’t allow cats. He has lived in a home all of his life and needs to find another family as soon as possible. He needs a quiet setting with adults who will give him the TLC he is used to. He is available for adoption or permanent foster.
