Little Leo has been adopted Little Leo loves to purr and talk to his people. Pick him up and he will melt into your arms. He is 5 months old and has a beautiful buff colored coat with stripes and rosettes. He would be great in a quiet home with older children or just adults. He gets along perfectly with other cats, dogs and even a rabbit!
Millie came to the shelter after her leg was broken in a car engine, where she had been napping. She is four months old, now and her leg is completely healed. She is very active and would do best in a home with active adults and older kids to play with. She loves other cats and would even tolerate a dog.
Lucille was abandoned in a Port St. Lucie neighborhood after her owners moved away and left her. She is about two years old and although she is not completely comfortable with other cats, she is getting more social with other felines. She is good with people and would be a great cat for an active family.
Etta is a ten month old beauty who came to us as a shy four month old. She became the self-appointed nanny to all of the motherless kittens at the shelter-grooming them, loving them, and even pretending to let them nurse on her. She raised 20 kittens this spring and summer, and every time a group went home she “adopted” another group. While she was socializing the kittens, she became socialized herself so that now, she likes to be petted and loved by people. Etta is lovely girl who-with a little patience will be a loving and loyal companioon.
Good news! Etta’s adoption fee has been paid by her Guardian Angel
This beautiful healthy older calico girl is Renata, she is a very loving happy cat but she MUST be the only animal in your house. She will greet you at the door, cuddle with you at night, sit on your lap, tap you on the shoulder for treats, sit next to you while you eat in hopes of getting a bite too. She is one of the most loving cats I have ever known and so so sweet. However, she is possessive and wants you only to herself. She is very gentle with “her” human. Renata is in the permanent foster program so no cost – no vet fees!!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!! doesn’t someone have an empty nest?
Darlin’ is a young calico girl who was dropped off in the parking lot of the shelter. She was frightened by the barking dogs, and ran a few doors down to a nearby business, which had her picked up by animal control. Now that Darlin’ is safely back with Dogs & cats, she is ready for a new home and someone who will care for her properly. She is a loving kitty who will be a great companion in an adult home.
Harvey is a young FIV- positive boy who came to us from another rescue. He is very handsome and social and gets along with other cats. He should be an only cat or be housed with other FIV-Positive cats as the virus is contagious to cats in certain circumstances. Harvey is available for adoption or permanent foster.
Libby and her brother Amos have been though a lot together, but you would never know it from their sweet and loving personalities. Amos is a lovebug who’ll sit in your lap, while Libby will sit next to you on your bed or chair. They were housed in a warehouse for almost a year when their former shelter closed down, but despite everything they always had each other. They are available for either adoption or permanent foster, but no matter what happens, they will always love each other. They are ready to love you, too.
Scrappy and Star are looking for a permanent foster home together. They were adopted as kittens from Dogs & Cats seven years ago and returned because the owners were moving. They were so upset that they hid under their beds for a month. They are camera shy so this photo is as good as it gets–so come see them in person. Scrappy is a sweet solid black boy and Star is a petite black and white girl. They have been in isolation for a month because they are unable to acclimate to a cat room. They want to go to a real home again.
Gizmo and her sister Lovebug are three year old sweethearts who love to be held and petted. They are both lap cats, so an extra big lap-or better yet-two laps are required. they have been housecats all their lives and are really out of place in a shelter. They have so much love to give and they want to give it all to you.
Gizmo and Lovebug are three year old sisters who came to the shelter as five-week-olds. They were fostered for two and a half years so they are used to being in a home with adults, kids and other cats. They are both lap cats and love to be held and petted. If you have room on your lap for these two sweet and beautiful girls, please consider taking them both, a they have been together all their lives and love each other. (Gizmo is on the left)
Tytus is a handsome four year old boy who was adopted from us as a kitten. He was recently found as a stray in Brevard County, but fortunately his microchip identified him as a DCF cat and he was returned to us from Animal Control. Tytus is a sweet and friendly boy who would be happiest with an active adult family or a family with older kids.
