Beautiful Bella is looking for a foster or better yet a forever home! Bella has been a student in the Pawsitive Direction Program – LARC 501c3 in Loxahatchee to work on training for the past few months. She will graduate soon fully obedience trained, AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) ready, and/or Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD in Canine Life and Social Skills (CLASS) ready.
Bella is a 5 year old pit bull mix, with a beautiful tri-color coat and expressive eyes. Her new family should be ready for a house/kennel trained, wiggly medium-energy pup who promises endless love and devotion to her people. Since she does have a prey drive, she needs a home as the only pup with no small furry or feathered animals. She’s smart, focused and would be excellent at a sport or spending time on a lure course. Bella would do well with kids; she lived with a special needs little boy at one point and did amazing!
To fill out a foster or adoption application, contact Nicole (561) 723-8197 or send a message to one of the following facebook pages: Loxahatchee Animal Rescue Community, Inc. or Pawsitive Direction Program – LARC 501c3.
I’m Mimi, a 10 year old Boxer/Beagle mix. Yeah, I’m a senior girl, but I like to be on the move! I’ve got energy and love to run around as if I’m a young pup. Having time to exercise is important to me, whether it is through several daily walks or a fenced-in yard. Swimming is my absolute favorite activity! I know basic commands such as sit and stay. I’m also housebroken. I do need a very special person and that is probably why I’ve been waiting for so long. It takes me awhile to get used to people, and most people aren’t willing to wait. I hope that one day, someone will really try for me. If that person volunteered to spend time with me regularly, it would give me the time that I need to open up to them prior to going home. I would do best as the only pet in the home. I have potential, and I deserve to spend my golden years with a family to call my own.
I’m Sadie, a 10 year old lab/shepherd mix, let’s get to know each other. I’m an absolute doll once you get to know me. I am a goofy girl who will wiggle and wag at the sight of a leash; I LOVE walks! I’m not only beautiful, I’m smart too. I know my basic commands and will gladly give you my paw. I need a living situation that can be difficult to find. I would do best as the only pet in a home with one adult person. The reason is, once I find a person of my own, I can be very protective of that person. I promise to make up for it with endless love, loyalty and lots of kisses.
Popcorn is a nearly 2 year old female who needs some TLC. She was found living outside a fast food restaurant, and although she is shy, she is very receptive to petting and love. Popcorn needs a quiet home with someone who can spend time with her and earn her trust.
Great news! My Guardian Angel has paid my adoption fee.
I’m Princess, a sweet 12 year old shepherd/rottweiler mix. I lost my home when my owner’s house was foreclosed on, and they could no longer care for me. I’ve been waiting here at the shelter for my forever family for several years. I need a home with adults or older children and without cats. I will need to meet your dog first if you have one. I’m shy and any potential adopters should know that I will require a little patience, but it will be very rewarding for both of us if you give me a chance.
Yin is a 7 year old Lab/American Bulldog mix who has called the shelter her home for many years, but she is hopeful that some day her special person will find her. She would like to be someone’s one and only baby, so she is in search of a home without other pets. Yin is very playful and desires a fenced-in yard to call her own. She prefers men over women. This beautiful girl truly has the potential to be an incredible companion.
Thalia is a beautiful black and white girl with amber eyes and a sweet disposition.

NOBODY NOTICES ME! Can a foster or patient adopter please help Eve?
The shelter environment just isn’t for her. She is very scared of new people and the noises, and isn’t one to jump into a stranger’s lap. For that reason, she has been overlooked and we hope to find a better situation for her before she hits her third year with us! She’s a hidden gem and she deserves a family. We believe that her adoptability would increase tremendously with a foster home environment. Don’t let the photo fool you – she’s a tiny pocket pup weighing in at just around 30 pounds. She does well with other dogs and children, she just needs a bit of time to open up.
Eve got her name when she jumped into a police officer’s car on Christmas eve in 2016. She was just a year old, emaciated and covered in fleas. Thankfully, the officer brought her to us where she could receive the treatment, love and yummy food that she needed! But she really needs help now, she doesn’t want to call the shelter her home forever!
Mya was found as a stray in the summer of 2014, and brought to Dogs & Cats Forever No-Kill Shelter in Fort Pierce, FL. She had mange and was put on several medications by a veterinarian, but sadly, she had an allergic reaction to her medications, and developed an autoimmune response to her meds. She has been to specialists in Stuart, West Palm Beach, and Gainesville, at the University of Florida. She is slowly getting better but has run up more than $5,000.00 in vet bills and medication costs. Her vets say that it could take more than a year for her to recover fully. Mya is only a year old and has a wonderful personality despite being in and out of clinics and given medicine almost nonstop.
Mya needs veterinary care for many months to come, and while Dogs & Cats Forever is currently responsible for her care, we are a private animal shelter which receives no financial assistance from local government, and we need help to pay her bills. Please help Mya get better so she can one day find a forever home.

The first thing you’ll notice about ten year old Tallulah is her gorgeous coat. Like any royal figure, she’s always dressed for the occasion. When she isn’t busy showing off, Tallulah loves endless affection from her human. Her adoption fee has already been paid by her guardian angel, and she is also eligible for permanent foster. If you’ve got a quiet home with or without other cats – she just might make it her castle.
