Rocky

I’m Rocky, a 4 year old boxer mix! I can be a little picky about which people I will open my heart up to, but those who know me describe me as a charming, smart guy. I can open doors, and I will require a fenced-in yard where I can play in between our long walks. I need an active adult family as the only pet because I won’t want to share you with anyone else. I’d prefer a family with boxer experience if possible; I need someone who understands me.

Dre

Dre is a 9 year old male pit bull. Once he gets to know you, he is very friendly and lovable. He would do good as the only pet in the home, with adults or older children only. Despite being a senior boy, he has a lot of energy so he will require a fenced-in yard where he can play in between walks with his owner. Dre knows his basic commands such as down and sit. He can even shake your hand. If you’re looking for a very hearty dog with a lots of love to give, Dre may be the dog for you.

Bella

imageimage

Bella here! I’m a 4 year old pit bull who came into the shelter as a scared, flea-covered stray. Nobody ever came to claim me. I got healthy and came out of my shell. They know me as the sweetest, goofiest girl around here. I will need a fenced-in yard where I can run out some of my energy in between our walks. My energy and prey drive require that I find a home as the only pet, with active adults or older children only.

Jeffrey

Jeffrey2

I’m Jeffrey, a 5 year old curr mix! I came to the shelter as a stray, I was found wandering in the rain. I’m a quiet & calm boy, but I am nervous so I need someone who understands that. I am looking for a quiet adult home, as the only pet, and will need a fenced-in yard. I get nervous with a lot of people around, but I promise to be a loyal companion to my future adopter.

Princess

Princess2

I’m Princess, a sweet 12 year old shepherd/rottweiler mix. I lost my home when my owner’s house was foreclosed on, and they could no longer care for me. I’ve been waiting here at the shelter for my forever family for several years. I need a home with adults or older children and without cats. I will need to meet your dog first if you have one. I’m shy and any potential adopters should know that I will require a little patience, but it will be very rewarding for both of us if you give me a chance.

Browny

Hey there, I’m Browny, a 6 year old hound mix! I can be a little shy at first. I’m the most handsome boy, and I love to carry my toys around with me. I need an experienced adult home with no other pets; I want you all to myself! I’ll also need a fenced-in yard to run around and be a goof ball in. Come in to meet me, I’ll sit and give my paw to you.

Briggs

Hey, Briggs here. I’m a 2 1/2 year old curr/hound mix. I’m a handsome guy who you’re sure to love once you get to know me. The shelter says that I could use some basic training, which is totally fine with me, I’ll do whatever it takes to find my forever family. I’m in search of an active adult home as the only pet. I’ll also need a fenced-in yard where I can run and play with you.

Rex

Rex

Hey, I’m Rex, a 4 year old german shepherd. I can be a little people selective. But those who have gotten to know me call me a sweet guy. I have some medical issues that make it hard for me to be adopted, the staff can tell you more about that. I need an experienced handler in an adult home as the only pet. I promise to be loyal to my owner.

Prince

prince

Prince is a handsome six-year-old boy who arrived at the shelter with his siblings, Harper and Hailey. He is very social with other cats and he likes people. He would be happiest in a calm home with another cat.

Great news! Prince’s adoption fee has been paid by his Guardian Angel.

Rudy

_DSC0503

Rudy is a 4 year old male chihuahua. He came in from a hoarding situation and is nervous but once he gets to know you he can be a great dog. Because of his nervousness, he would do best in a home with adults or older children only. He just needs someone to give him a little time, patience and understanding.

Yin

YinYin is the other half of Yang whom has already been adopted. Yin is a six year old female American Bulldog and Hound Mix. She would do well in an adult home with no other pets. Yin likes to spend her free time chasing lizards. If you are looking for a new best friend, stop by the shelter and say hello, she would love to meet you!

Eve

My name is Eve because I was rescued by a police officer on Christmas eve in 2016. I’m a sweet, goofy 3 year old pit mix that you’re sure to love. I love kids, other dogs and need a home with a fenced-in yard where I can run around. Now that I’m healthy, make me happy & take me home!

Mya

user_photo-55297b71018a3

Mya was found as a stray in the summer of 2014, and brought to Dogs & Cats Forever No-Kill Shelter in Fort Pierce, FL. She had mange and was put on several medications by a veterinarian, but sadly, she had an allergic reaction to her medications, and developed an autoimmune response to her meds. She has been to specialists in Stuart, West Palm Beach, and Gainesville, at the University of Florida. She is slowly getting better but has run up more than $5,000.00 in vet bills and medication costs. Her vets say that it could take more than a year for her to recover fully. Mya is only a year old and has a wonderful personality despite being in and out of clinics and given medicine almost nonstop.
Mya needs veterinary care for many months to come, and while Dogs & Cats Forever is currently responsible for her care, we are a private animal shelter which receives no financial assistance from local government, and we need help to pay her bills. Please help Mya get better so she can one day find a forever home.

Sadie

Sadie

Sadie is a six and a half year old female Shepherd mix. She is very affectionate with the people she knows. She doesn’t tolerate cats or other dogs so you would need a pet free home without children in order to adopt Sadie. She promises to be a loving, loyal companion to anyone who can give her the loving home that she deserves!

Blake

Blake is a beautiful 4 year old pit bull who came to the shelter as a stray. He needs a home with a fenced-in yard where he can be someone’s one and only child; he can’t go to a home with other dogs, cats or kids. Hawthorne

TDP_3056o9c0414-copy-1-913x288Great news! Hawthorne’s adoption fee has been prepaid by a Guardian Angel

Hawthorne is a young cat who has tested positive for the Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (also called FIV or feline AIDS). He was rescued after being dumped at a local park. He is a sweet and loving boy who was obviously a house pet as a kitten, but as so often happens, was no longer wanted after he grew into a cat. Hawthorne would be perfect for a family of any age. What does owning a FIV+ cat entail? Click here to learn more.

Hawthorne has lots of love to give and he wants to give it all to you!

Bojangles

bojanglesBojangles

Bojangles was trapped accidentally by a staff member, who was trying to capture another cat which had run away from her home. Bojangles had scars from many fights with other unneutered male cats and, sadly, tested positive for the Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). Now that he has been neutered and has been at the shelter for awhile, he is looking-and feeling-much better, and staff and volunteers love his sweet personality. Bojangles never had a real home, but we are sure he would love a chance to be part of a loving family. What does owning a FIV+ cat entail? Click here to learn more.

Great News! Bojangles’ adoption fee has been paid by a Guardian Angel
