Miera and Max

Meira and Max are a one year old pair Who need a home together. They are very sweet, they have excellent manners, and they are house cats who are ready to love you .

Meira & Max, two sweeties as sweet as M&Ms!

We are a bonded pair of one-year-olds who need a home together. We are sweet and lovable and love human attention. We are very cuddly and have been house cats ever since we were babies. Our owner was allergic to us so we have to find a new family to love. We are ready to meet you and spend our lives loving you.

Great news!! Our guardian angel has paid our adoption fee.

Bao 豹

Bao is a beautiful spotted tabby who was abandoned in White city park. He’s very sweet and loving and he would make a great family companion.

Let me be your purrfect holiday present! Meow.

My name means “leopard” in Chinese because the folks at the shelter think my beautiful spotted coat makes me look like a leopard. I’m a two-year-old sweetheart who just had a surgery to correct a problem I had with my eyelids. I’m going to be fine now and I’m actually pain-free for the first time in a long time. I was found at White City park-discarded in a carrier along with a bottle of water-which of course I could not open. Thankfully, someone found me and now I have a chance at a better life.

I am very affectionate and sweet and I hope you’ll stop by to meet me. I’d love to go home for the holidays.

Great news !! My guardian angel has paid by adoption fee.

Mya

Female- 1 1/2 years old- Chow Chow/Terrier/Pit mix

I’m little miss Mya and I’m ready to explore the world with my forever human. I would do best in an adult home where I can have my space. I may be small and cute but I don’t not play when it comes to my food (FOOD AGGRESSION). I can be a little feisty but with the right people I know I’ll be happy all the time.

April showers bring ‘May’ flowers! Add me to your bouquet!

Bella

Beautiful Bella is looking for a foster or better yet a forever home! Bella has been a student in the Pawsitive Direction Program – LARC 501c3 in Loxahatchee to work on training for the past few months. She will graduate soon fully obedience trained, AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) ready, and/or Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD in Canine Life and Social Skills (CLASS) ready.

Look, I dressed up just for you! Bella is a 5 year old pit bull mix, with a beautiful tri-color coat and expressive eyes. Her new family should be ready for a house/kennel trained, wiggly medium-energy pup who promises endless love and devotion to her people. Since she does have a prey drive, she needs a home as the only pup with no small furry or feathered animals. She’s smart, focused and would be excellent at a sport or spending time on a lure course. Bella would do well with kids; she lived with a special needs little boy at one point and did amazing!

To fill out a foster or adoption application, contact Nicole (561) 723-8197 or send a message to one of the following facebook pages: Loxahatchee Animal Rescue Community, Inc. or Pawsitive Direction Program – LARC 501c3.

Cash

Cash is an eight-year-old boy who spent the first few years of his life in a cage at the hands of a hoarder. Although he is quite shy he’s very sweet and hope someday to find a real home with a loving family

I am an eight-year-old boy who spent the first few years of my life in a cage at the hands of a hoarder. I recently went home with a lovely family but I wasn’t quite ready to make the transition and I came back to the shelter. I am very friendly with the folks at the shelter whom I trust and I hope someday to overcome some of my shyness and can try a real home again!

Great News! My adoption fee has been paid by My Guardian Angel!

Oh, please pet me! I love when humans do that!

Rex

Rex

Hey, I’m Rex, a 4 year old german shepherd. I can be a little people selective. But those who have gotten to know me call me a sweet guy. I have some medical issues that make it hard for me to be adopted, the staff can tell you more about that. I need an experienced handler in an adult home as the only pet. I promise to be loyal to my owner.

Yin

8 1/2  year old – Lab/American Pit mix -Female

Yin, has called the shelter her home for many years, but she is hopeful that someday her special person will find her.  Will you be her very own ‘yang’?
Yin is very playful and desires a fenced-in yard.  She prefers men over women and would do best in an adult only home with no pets. This beautiful girl is looking for her forever home!

Be on the look out!!!! Stolen Truck!

Please be on the look out for our stolen moving truck.

IMG_2237

Someone stole our moving truck. If you happen to see this truck please call the police and the Dogs and Cats Forever Animal Shelter 772-489-5454.

The blue Tropical Storage lettering has been recently removed so you are looking for an ALL WHITE truck. However you can still clearly see all the ghost images of the old Tropical Storage lettering.

The truck was stolen from our thrift store parking lot on or about 7/7 or 7/8 in the overnight early morning hours.

This post will be updated with the license plate number and VIN number as more information becomes available.

If you see this truck, please call the Shelter and or the local Police department.

We need our truck back!

A Job Well Done!

Liz_SushiBeing a non-profit no kill animal shelter is no easy task. Ask any of the number of volunteers who assist Dogs and Cats Forever, Inc. on a regular basis. Money is always tight, help is sometimes short. Every donation whether its a can of food or as simple as a dollar bill is always accepted with grace and humility on behalf of the dogs and cats entrusted to the care of the shelter.

One such volunteer in 2013 stands out. Liz Levanti, a sixteen year old sophomore at Lincoln Park Academy in Ft. Pierce started a donation drive for the animals at Dogs and Cats Forever, Inc. As part of her curriculum in the International Baccalaureate program offered through the school, Liz volunteered at Dogs and Cats Forever throughout the summer and fall of 2013. She took pictures of dogs and cats, started a Facebook page to keep people updated on the status of the fund drive and also displayed pictures in her mothers salon.

Liz raised more then $3500 in cash and donated goods to assist the animals at Dogs and Cats Forever, Inc.

It’s not everyday a person walks through the front door and donates such a significant amount of money and items. Its not every day a sixteen year old high school sophomore does it when her peers are spending the summers and weekends at the movies and beach.

Today Dogs and Cats Forever recognizes Liz for her fantastic achievements with a pizza lunch. Oh did I mention Liz is spending a portion of her spring break volunteering at the shelter? She is.

lizparty3

Liz, on behalf of all the animals at Dogs and Cats Forever, Inc. we thank you for your hard work and selfless dedication to this organization. The animals and staff are very proud of you and know you will continue to succeed and go far in life with the attitude you have.

The animals and staff of Dogs and Cats Forever, Inc. thanks all the volunteers and community who donate to the organization whether its time, money, goods and services.
