Beautiful Bella is looking for a foster or better yet a forever home! Bella has been a student in the Pawsitive Direction Program – LARC 501c3 in Loxahatchee to work on training for the past few months. She will graduate soon fully obedience trained, AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) ready, and/or Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD in Canine Life and Social Skills (CLASS) ready.
Bella is a 5 year old pit bull mix, with a beautiful tri-color coat and expressive eyes. Her new family should be ready for a house/kennel trained, wiggly medium-energy pup who promises endless love and devotion to her people. Since she does have a prey drive, she needs a home as the only pup with no small furry or feathered animals. She’s smart, focused and would be excellent at a sport or spending time on a lure course. Bella would do well with kids; she lived with a special needs little boy at one point and did amazing!
To fill out a foster or adoption application, contact Nicole (561) 723-8197 or send a message to one of the following facebook pages: Loxahatchee Animal Rescue Community, Inc. or Pawsitive Direction Program – LARC 501c3.
Blake is a 6 year old pit bull mix. He is currently residing in a foster home where he is thriving. Please ask about scheduling a time to meet him! Blake is in search of an adult home with a fenced-in yard where he can be the only pet.
Blake’s foster mom writes…
If you didn’t know this guys past, you would think that he was the perfect dog! He is so calm and loving in my shop outside of the shelter that was a crazy environment for him.
He sits, stays, places, waits for his food and has learned to walk perfectly on a leash. The boxer in him means he likes multiple short walks where he has time to take in all the smells! We take 3 walks a day and it helps him with his energy level tremendously. He loves to ride in the car with the wind on his face, smelling the world as we drive by!
At my shop, nothing I do bothers him. He will come to see what I’m working on and offer assistance…lol….but if I dont need his help, he lies happily on his bed or puts himself in his crate for a nap! He adores his nylabone that his friend Alexis got him and just loves to sit with me while he happily chews away!
Throughout the day we have an affirmation sessions where I tell him “You are beautiful! You are worth life! You are smart and you are calm and kind. You will find a loving peaceful home after you have healed mind, body, and spirit. You are a great friend!”
Please keep him in your prayers. To return to the shelter would set him back so far! I have faith that some kind person will find him!!!
I’m Sadie, a 10 year old lab/shepherd mix, let’s get to know each other. I’m an absolute doll once you get to know me. I am a goofy girl who will wiggle and wag at the sight of a leash; I LOVE walks! I’m not only beautiful, I’m smart too. I know my basic commands and will gladly give you my paw. I need a living situation that can be difficult to find. I would do best as the only pet in a home with one adult person. The reason is, once I find a person of my own, I can be very protective of that person. I promise to make up for it with endless love, loyalty and lots of kisses.
HANDSOME, SMART & ADOPTABLE…
Beautiful Dre could be your newest family member! This beautiful boy knows his basic commands and loves to play fetch! Dre dreams of having a fenced-in yard all to himself some day. He’s got a lot of pep in his step for an older guy but his energy isn’t overwhelming. Dre’s ideal home would be one where he can be a solo pup with adults or older kids. Stop by the shelter to meet this sweet man!
Pit Bull, Male, 9 years
Cash is a 7 year old boy who spent the first couple years of his life in a cage at the hands of a hoarder. He is sweet and truly loves attention. He needs a quiet adult home.
Great News! My adoption fee has been paid by My Guardian Angel!
This happy guy is named Diesel. Diesel is a 9 year old Lab/American Bulldog mix. He loves to play and has a great disposition. Diesel needs lots of exercise so if you have a big fenced-in yard or love to go on walks Diesel may be the dog for you.
I’m Jeffrey, a 5 year old curr mix! I came to the shelter as a stray, I was found wandering in the rain. I’m a quiet & calm boy, but I am nervous so I need someone who understands that. I am looking for a quiet adult home, as the only pet, and will need a fenced-in yard. I get nervous with a lot of people around, but I promise to be a loyal companion to my future adopter.
I’m Princess, a sweet 12 year old shepherd/rottweiler mix. I lost my home when my owner’s house was foreclosed on, and they could no longer care for me. I’ve been waiting here at the shelter for my forever family for several years. I need a home with adults or older children and without cats. I will need to meet your dog first if you have one. I’m shy and any potential adopters should know that I will require a little patience, but it will be very rewarding for both of us if you give me a chance.
Hey there, I’m Browny, a 6 year old hound mix! I can be a little shy at first. I’m the most handsome boy, and I love to carry my toys around with me. I need an experienced adult home with no other pets; I want you all to myself! I’ll also need a fenced-in yard to run around and be a goof ball in. Come in to meet me, I’ll sit and give my paw to you.
Hey, Briggs here. I’m a 2 1/2 year old curr/hound mix. I’m a handsome guy who you’re sure to love once you get to know me. The shelter says that I could use some basic training, which is totally fine with me, I’ll do whatever it takes to find my forever family. I’m in search of an active adult home as the only pet. I’ll also need a fenced-in yard where I can run and play with you.
Hey, I’m Rex, a 4 year old german shepherd. I can be a little people selective. But those who have gotten to know me call me a sweet guy. I have some medical issues that make it hard for me to be adopted, the staff can tell you more about that. I need an experienced handler in an adult home as the only pet. I promise to be loyal to my owner.
Rudy is a 4 year old male chihuahua. He came in from a hoarding situation and is nervous but once he gets to know you he can be a great dog. Because of his nervousness, he would do best in a home with adults or older children only. He just needs someone to give him a little time, patience and understanding.
Yin is a 7 year old Lab/American Bulldog mix who has called the shelter her home for many years, but she is hopeful that some day her special person will find her. She would like to be someone’s one and only baby, so she is in search of a home without other pets. Yin is very playful and desires a fenced-in yard to call her own. She prefers men over women. This beautiful girl truly has the potential to be an incredible companion.
Mya was found as a stray in the summer of 2014, and brought to Dogs & Cats Forever No-Kill Shelter in Fort Pierce, FL. She had mange and was put on several medications by a veterinarian, but sadly, she had an allergic reaction to her medications, and developed an autoimmune response to her meds. She has been to specialists in Stuart, West Palm Beach, and Gainesville, at the University of Florida. She is slowly getting better but has run up more than $5,000.00 in vet bills and medication costs. Her vets say that it could take more than a year for her to recover fully. Mya is only a year old and has a wonderful personality despite being in and out of clinics and given medicine almost nonstop.
Mya needs veterinary care for many months to come, and while Dogs & Cats Forever is currently responsible for her care, we are a private animal shelter which receives no financial assistance from local government, and we need help to pay her bills. Please help Mya get better so she can one day find a forever home.

Great news! Hawthorne’s adoption fee has been prepaid by a Guardian Angel
Hawthorne is a young cat who has tested positive for the Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (also called FIV or feline AIDS). He was rescued after being dumped at a local park. He is a sweet and loving boy who was obviously a house pet as a kitten, but as so often happens, was no longer wanted after he grew into a cat. Hawthorne would be perfect for a family of any age. What does owning a FIV+ cat entail? Click here to learn more.
Hawthorne has lots of love to give and he wants to give it all to you!
