Dre

Dre is a 9 year old male pit bull. Once he gets to know you, he is very friendly and lovable. He would do good as the only pet in the home, with adults or older children only. Despite being a senior boy, he has a lot of energy so he will require a fenced-in yard where he can play in between walks with his owner. Dre knows his basic commands such as down and sit. He can even shake your hand. If you’re looking for a very hearty dog with a lots of love to give, Dre may be the dog for you.

Jax

This is Jax, a 9 year old Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler mix. Jax is a great dog for an active family. Jax would do well in an environment where he has lots of exercise or a specific job to do. He’s very smart and loyal but needs stimulation. Jax likes to herd and he uses his mouth to pull you somewhere to show you something. Small children would probably not be a good fit but as long as you understand how Jax operates and behaves you will quickly learn Jax is an awesome dog and very very smart. He will require a special home though: he needs to have a single female owner, he does not do well with men. Come to the shelter and meet him and you will see for yourself how awesome Jax is.

Baba is a nearly 8 year old male pit bull mix. He is shy and afraid in the shelter, and has been here since he was just a puppy. Baba would do well with a fenced-in yard and a home with only adults and no other pets. Baba has been working with a dog trainer while at the shelter and is learning to walk nicely on a leash. He is such a love and it’s time that he find his forever family.

Jeffrey found his way to the shelter when someone saw him wandering around in the rain on the side of the road. He’s looking for an adult home with a fenced-in yard. Jeffrey would love it if you could stop by and meet him.

He loves his stuffed animal and will carry it around all day. Browny will also sit and give his paw to you. Browny would love it if you would stop by the shelter to meet him!

Briggs

Briggs is a 2 1/2 year old male curr/hound mix. He will require a fenced-in yard and needs some basic training. He would like to be the only pet in an adult home. He took a trip with a volunteer to the beach one day and he loved it! He is a sweet boy once you get to know him.

Tater

Did you know we have a big teddy bear up for adoption? His name is Tater, he’s a senior chow chow boy. He was adopted from us 11 years ago, but unfortunately his adopter became ill and had to bring him back. He needs an experienced owner that can dedicate their time to him only – he would like to be the only pet in an adult home. He’s now waiting for a patient & understanding person to come along and care for him in his golden years.

Prince

prince

Prince is a handsome six-year-old boy who arrived at the shelter with his siblings, Harper and Hailey. He is very social with other cats and he likes people. He would be happiest in a calm home with another cat.

Rudy

Rudy is a 4 year old male chihuahua. He came in from a hoarding situation and is nervous but once he gets to know you he can be a great dog. Because of his nervousness, he would do best in a home with adults or older children only. He just needs someone to give him a little time, patience and understanding.

Buckaroo

buck 2buckarooIMG_20170322_204218

Buckaroo is a handsome middle-aged boy who spent much of his life outside. Although he tested positive for FIV, he is in excellent health and has adapted well to indoor living.  He is quite a talker and loves to tell his life story to anyone who will listen.  He gets along with other cats and would be a great companion in a semi-active home.

Great News! My adoption fee has been paid by my Guardian Angel

Blake

Blake is a beautiful 4 year old pit bull who came to the shelter as a stray. He needs a home with a fenced-in yard where he can be someone’s one and only child; he can’t go to a home with other dogs, cats or kids. Blake is looking for an experienced and understanding person that he can be loyal to.

Hawthorne

TDP_3056o9c0414-copy-1-913x288Great news! Hawthorne’s adoption fee has been prepaid by a Guardian Angel

Hawthorne is a young cat who has tested positive for the Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (also called FIV or feline AIDS). He was rescued after being dumped at a local park. He is a sweet and loving boy who was obviously a house pet as a kitten, but as so often happens, was no longer wanted after he grew into a cat.

Hawthorne would be perfect for a family of any age. He has no special medical needs, and will live a normal lifespan. He should be an only cat or live in a home with other FIV+ cats, as FIV is contagious to other cats in certain circumstances. FIV IS A CATS-ONLY VIRUS AND CANNOT AFFECT PEOPLE OR DOGS.

Hawthorne has lots of love to give and he wants to give it all to you!

Bojangles

bojanglesBojangles

Bojangles was trapped accidentally by shelter staff who were trying to capture another cat which had run away from her home. Bojangles had scars from many fights with other unneutered male cats and, sadly, tested positive for the Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). Now that he has been neutered and has been at the shelter for awhile, he is looking-and feeling-much better, and staff and volunteers love his sweet personality. Bojangles never had a real home, but we are sure he would love a chance to be part of a loving family. Because he is FIV+ he must be an only cat or with other cats who are FIV+ also.

Great News! Bojangles’ adoption fee has been paid by a Guardian Angel

Danny Boy

Danny Boy is a senior Siamese Snowshoe boy who lost his home when his owner became ill.  He is frontal declawed and wold be happiest in a quiet adult home with no other pets.
